Construction has been part of my life from the beginning. My dad was a carpenter, and I grew up watching him work on the home my parents built themselves. Some of my earliest memories are of being around job sites, tools, and the process of building things by hand.
During high school and college, I worked in residential construction and developed a real appreciation for the craft. After earning a degree in Middle School Education from the University of Georgia and serving in the Army, I spent some time working in education. But construction kept pulling me back, and in 2018 I returned to residential building full time.
Since then, I’ve focused on framing, structural work, and residential construction throughout the Ithaca area and Cental New York. The work ranges from custom homes and additions to decks, structural repairs, and exterior envelope upgrades.
Building Philosophy
Our philosophy is simple: build things well. That means taking the time to understand how a structure works, paying attention to the details that matter, and not cutting corners just to move faster.
Construction is always evolving. Building science, materials, and codes continue to change, and staying current requires ongoing learning and professional development. We take that responsibility seriously and continually work to improve how we approach our craft.
When we build a house, addition, or structure, we are not just building it for the person who hires us today. These buildings are meant to be here for a long time, and the decisions made during construction will affect the people who live in them for years to come. Because of that, we approach our work with the mindset that what we build should last and continue to serve the people who live in it long after the project is complete.
Company Values
Clear Communication
We believe communication is key to a successful project. From the initial conversations through completion, we keep clients informed, follow through on commitments, and make sure no one is left waiting on an answer.
Collaborative Approach
We approach projects collaboratively. Construction is not done in a silo, and good outcomes depend on clear coordination between clients, architects, engineers, and other trades.
A thoughtful, coordinated approach leads to better results and a smoother process from start to finish.
Selective With Our Work
We are not the right fit for every project, and we are comfortable with that. We take on work where we can do it properly and stand behind the result.
The People Doing the Work Matter
We are intentional about who we hire. Good construction depends on skilled, thoughtful people who take pride in what they do.
We are a certified living wage employer and strive to maintain a healthy balance between work and life. When people are respected and supported, it shows in the quality of the work.
Professionalism
We approach our work with a high level of professionalism. Communication is clear and intentional, estimates are thoughtfully prepared, and the process is organized from start to finish.
That same level of care carries onto the jobsite. We maintain a clean and organized work environment, respect the spaces we are working in, and approach both small and large tasks with the same level of attention. Safety is always a priority.
